Swan Lake
The plan was, originally, to stay up in Scotland. However, my wife was originally going to share the 10 hour drive back but after she damaged her knee we decided that it would be better to come down to the Lakes and stay overnight so that I could split the drive into two. And I am so pleased we did. This particular morning was promising no wind at all and fog. Well the fog wasn’t dense but that suited me absolutely fine. A 4am alarm saw me at Derwent Water at 4.30 and not surprisingly I had the place to myself. Which meant that I could take my time and really enjoy these stunning conditions.
This image was already looking great when a swan swam majestically across the scene and turned a great photo into an amazing photo. Truly wonderful. This image has been featured as Pic of the Week in Amateur Photographer magazine and has already won a competition.
